SMT Uses Siemens Teamcenter To Link Device Design And Quality Records
Frontier Enterprise reported that Sahajanand Medical Technologies has deployed Siemens Teamcenter to connect product development, quality and regulatory processes across its cardiovascular device business.

Sahajanand Medical Technologies has put Siemens' Teamcenter software at the center of a product lifecycle management rollout, Frontier Enterprise reported, giving the cardiovascular device maker a single digital thread across product development, quality and regulatory work.
The deployment uses Teamcenter from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio.
SMT selected the system to connect engineering, quality and program management data in one environment rather than keeping product information split across separate functions.
For a medical device manufacturer, the operating stakes sit in documentation and traceability as much as collaboration.
The rollout is designed to support compliance with US FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485, two frameworks that shape how device makers manage quality systems, production records and controlled changes.
Teamcenter will support collaboration, classification, program planning and schedule management inside SMT.
The implementation also covers medical device-specific functions including design history files, device master records, change management, and test and verification processes.
That scope turns the PLM project into more than a software consolidation.
Requirements, design work, manufacturing information and quality activity can be traced through a common environment, giving teams a clearer record of how a device moves from development toward production and regulatory review.
SMT Chief Information Officer Girish Kewalramani framed the system as a data backbone for connecting engineering and quality teams while improving visibility across product development.
The company is expanding internationally, which raises the burden of keeping product information consistent across healthcare markets and compliance regimes.
Siemens Digital Industries Software's India head Mathew Thomas tied the deployment to rising product complexity and regulatory pressure in medical devices.
ThinkInnov Solutions delivered the implementation, configuration and user onboarding services for the project.
The result is a unified PLM environment meant to help SMT manage records, schedules and quality controls as its cardiovascular device business scales beyond a single market.
