MEED Names 73 Mena Project Winners Before Dubai Final
MEED named 73 national winners across 17 categories for its 2026 Projects Awards, sending projects from nine Mena markets to a Dubai final on 10 November.

MEED has named 73 national winners for its 2026 Projects Awards, turning a regional construction prize into an early map of which infrastructure schemes will move into a Mena-wide final in Dubai.
The publication disclosed the winners in an awards update tied to the programme’s 16th edition.
The selected projects span 17 categories, with entries drawn from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Iraq and Libya.
Contractors, consultants, developers and project owners are represented in the field.
The next step is a regional final rather than a finished ranking.
Each national winner now advances to the Mena finals.
A 10 November ceremony at Dubai’s Madinat Jumeirah, inside the Joharah Ballroom, is scheduled to choose one regional winner from every category.
The awards list matters because it captures a broad slice of the Gulf and wider Mena project pipeline at the point where delivery, financing and technical execution are being compared across markets.
Infrastructure owners and delivery partners are not being judged only on scale; the source framed the winners around execution discipline, digital adoption and sustainability outcomes.
Ed James, MEED’s head of content and research, described the selected projects as evidence of a market that has moved beyond ambition into execution.
He pointed to integrated delivery models, faster use of digital tools and a sharper focus on sustainability as signs of a projects sector maturing in real time.
Mashreq is attached to the programme as headline sponsor.
Arun Mathur, the bank’s executive vice-president and global head of contracting finance, framed the winners as proof of regional project-delivery ambition and linked Mashreq’s role to support for Mena infrastructure and construction.
The source also placed the announcement beside partner material on Saudi Arabia’s water public-private partnership market, describing that sector as increasingly structured through institutional reforms, legal frameworks and digital tools.
That context reinforced the same operating theme: project delivery in the region is being measured by governance and execution systems as much as by headline investment.
The November final will test which of the national winners can carry that execution case from country-level recognition to a regional category award.
