Indian Startup Funding Falls To $122.9 Million Despite More Deals
Indian startups raised $122.9 million across 25 deals in the first week of October, led by DailyObjects, Lumio, Beyond Appliances and StockGro, while IPO and acquisition moves kept the pipeline active.

Inc42's weekly funding tracker put Indian startup funding at $122.9 million in the first week of October, a 47.4% drop from the previous week's $233.6 million total even as deal volume rose to 25 startups from 16.
The largest disclosed transaction was DailyObjects' $34.3 million Series C, backed by Xponentia Capital Partners, Anicut Capital and Axiom Asia Private Capital.
That single consumer-commerce round accounted for more than half of the $63.9 million raised by ecommerce startups across nine deals, making the sector the week's main capital magnet despite the overall funding decline.
Several mid-sized rounds spread the remaining activity across consumer, fintech, hardware, education and healthcare businesses.
Lumio raised $12 million in a Series A backed by Blume Ventures, Stellaris Venture Partners and 3one4 Capital.
Beyond Appliances and StockGro each raised $10.4 million, while advanced hardware startup Quanfluence drew $10 million from Chiratae Ventures, Rainmatter and Pi Ventures.
Fintech ranked second by sector with $24 million in funding.
NeoGrowth raised $8.7 million from Dutch Development Bank FMO and LeapFrog Investments, Zomint added $3.7 million in seed funding from Lightspeed and Prime Venture Partners, and Credfix raised $1.6 million from Tanglin Venture Partners and Stargazer.
StockGro's investment-tech round, backed by BITKRAFT Ventures and others, formed part of a larger financing.
The week's lower total did not stop early-stage activity.
Pre-seed and seed-stage companies collected $12.5 million across nine deals, including Desible.ai's $3.3 million seed round, CureMeAbroad's $1.1 million pre-seed round, CurvetAI's $620,000 pre-seed financing and smaller rounds for Zinara, TailBlaze and Sober & Co. The spread showed investors still writing smaller checks while larger late-stage funding remained thinner than the prior week.
Investor concentration was visible across the table.
3one4 Capital, Fireside Ventures, Prime Venture Partners and AJVC each backed two startups, while named angel investors and family-office capital appeared in healthtech, ecommerce and recommerce deals.
The mix left ecommerce with the largest dollar total, fintech with the second-largest sector total and advanced hardware as the biggest single non-consumer category.
Capital-market and acquisition moves widened the funding picture.
Hoola Health acquired UpTodd to add early-childhood development services to its paediatric care offerings.
Marico bought an additional 24.09% of Plix for ₹1,012.03 crore in cash, raising its holding in the plant-based nutrition and personal-care brand to 84.09%.
Flipkart took a minority stake in TravClan to expand international travel offerings through Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel.
IPO activity also stayed active around consumer and drone-tech companies.
Swara Baby Products, a Brainbees Solutions subsidiary, received SEBI approval for a proposed ₹1,000 crore IPO.
Snapdeal parent AceVector listed at ₹28.30, an 11.6% discount to its ₹32 issue price.
AITMC Ventures filed an updated draft prospectus for an IPO of up to 3.5 Cr fresh shares with no offer-for-sale component.
The next pipeline includes larger private and fund-level moves.
Leverage Edu is seeking ₹500 crore in pre-IPO financing, frontier AI startup FYDY is in advanced talks for a $12 million maiden round, and NABARD's venture arm announced a ₹450 crore first close for its second fund toward a ₹1,500 crore target corpus.
Together, those pending and completed transactions point to a market where weekly deployment slowed sharply, but investors are still active across consumer brands, fintech, AI, education and public-market candidates.
