A trade licence renewal in Ajman has shifted from an online request to an agent-led transaction, with the AjmanOne app handling customer prompts before the system coordinates the renewal path across public entities.

A July 24, 2026, item from Middle East AI News, citing Emirates News Agency, attributed the first-government-transaction description to the Government of Ajman and the Department of Digital Ajman.

In the opening phase, the Department of Economic Development in the emirate serves as the licensing authority behind the renewal service.

Customers receive an automatic notice before expiry and are directed to an intelligent assistant, eliminating the need to search for the right form or service counter.

AjmanOne Handles The Renewal Path

The AjmanOne workflow extends beyond answering questions about a licence.

Lease-renewal routing is part of the sequence, with the system directing customers through Ajman Municipality and Planning Department when municipal records require that step before trade-licence completion.

This transaction chain distinguishes the headless service model from a conventional government chatbot.

While a chatbot can explain a procedure, this system is presented as a proactive workflow that initiates before a licence expires and coordinates separate government records within the service layer.

Crown Prince Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, who chairs the Executive Council, called the initiative a practical step under the Ajman Artificial Intelligence Program.

The programme aligns with Vision 2030 and the Ajman for People agenda, providing the renewal service with a defined public-sector workflow rather than broad AI branding.

Digital Ajman Sets Governance Conditions

Digital Ajman stated that the headless services model can operate through current and future digital channels.

Governance, data quality, secure integration, and human oversight where required are conditions for that expansion path, framing the deployment as an administrative workflow rather than a full replacement of public officials.

These conditions are crucial for licensing because the transaction relies on data held by multiple entities.

A renewal agent must accurately read expiry status, customer information, and lease records to determine the next step, while still allowing for human review when cases fall outside the automated path.

AI Programme Targets 100 Initiatives

The same item listed a target of 100 initiatives for the wider Ajman Artificial Intelligence Programme across the eight pillars of Vision 2030.

Middle East AI News noted that the programme is built on a People First principle, treating AI as a tool for decisions and services rather than a replacement for the people responsible for them.

For local businesses, the immediate change is trade licence renewal rather than a full licensing overhaul.

The Middle East AI News item names the first-phase service and its integration path, but it does not provide measured processing time, renewal volume or error-rate data for the automated transaction.
