Snowflake Names Adrian De Luca To Lead APJ Solution Engineering
Snowflake appointed former AWS cloud acceleration executive Adrian De Luca to lead APJ solution engineering as enterprises try to move generative and agentic AI work into production.

ITNews Asia reported that Snowflake has named Adrian De Luca vice president for Asia Pacific and Japan solution engineering, putting a former AWS cloud acceleration executive in charge of a regional team focused on enterprise data, cloud and AI adoption.
The appointment gives Snowflake an APJ technical sales leader at a moment when more organisations in the region are trying to move generative and agentic AI projects beyond experiments and into production.
Based in Melbourne, De Luca will lead solution engineering teams across the region, with work spanning enterprise data platforms, implementation and customer adoption.
His AWS tenure lasted more than a decade and centred on cloud transformation across Asia Pacific.
His final post there was a regional cloud-acceleration directorship, after a three-year stretch in which AI and agentic systems became a major focus.
Prototype work under his team covered document processing, personalised marketing and motorsports strategy.
The background gives Snowflake a regional engineering leader whose recent work moved AI ideas into specific enterprise applications rather than leaving them as broad platform claims.
De Luca's earlier career also ran through infrastructure, governance and application modernisation.
A nearly 15-year period at Hitachi Data Systems culminated in an Asia Pacific chief technology officer role.
He later co-founded fitness marketplace app AirActive, and his advisory work has covered cloud security, risk and compliance for government and corporate users, including Australian federal cloud policy.
At Snowflake, the remit covers implementation and adoption across Snowpark, Cortex AI and the company's secure data-sharing capabilities.
The role links the company's regional AI push to a practical enterprise requirement: customers need data architecture and governance strong enough to support AI applications reliably at scale.
In his public comment, De Luca linked the new role to his work with major brands during the AI and cloud-adoption cycle and framed Snowflake's opportunity around data value and agentic AI outcomes for local organisations.
The hire leaves Snowflake's APJ enterprise pitch centred less on AI experimentation and more on the operating layer beneath production deployments: data access, governance, secure sharing and engineering support for customers trying to convert pilot work into business systems.
