Middle East marketing awards are widening their definition of performance beyond campaign visibility.

Agency of The Year Middle East 2026 has 39 categories, including 12 new awards and a refreshed geographic segment, with gaming, creator commerce and measurable community work moving deeper into the judging framework, Campaign Middle East reported.

The immediate deadline is commercial, but the category changes are the stronger signal for agencies.

The report said early-bird pricing closes on Thursday, August 6 2026, while the revamped judging process adds new submission criteria across marketing, creative, advertising, digital, PR, media and production agencies.

Digital Categories Move Into The Main Scorecard

Gaming, esports and sports marketing are now named parts of the 2026 awards structure.

Campaign Middle East's category guidance says gaming and esports entries should show work across gaming communities, streamer partnerships, esports tournaments, virtual environments, branded content, platform behaviour and youth culture.

Creator partnerships also get a more formal test.

The source says entrants in that category must show how they identify creators, build communities, manage brand safety, negotiate partnerships, measure outcomes and create authentic audience engagement.

That wording moves the category away from celebrity access or viral reach alone and toward proof of commercial results, cultural relevance, ethical creator management and long-term client trust.

Regional Work Is Split More Precisely

The awards also introduce a refreshed geographic segment for the Middle East agency market.

Campaign Middle East wrote that the update is based on region-wide industry feedback and is meant to cover more of the region's marketing, creative and production agencies.

The structure creates a broader operating test for agencies competing in the Gulf and wider Middle East.

Work in gaming, creator commerce and sports partnerships now has to be explained through platform behaviour, fan engagement, measurement and revenue or participation outcomes, not only campaign visibility.

The disclosed criteria point to a more specific competition: agencies must show how digital communities, creators and regional execution produce measurable participation or business results.

The source does not publish detailed scoring weights, so the judging process itself remains the next unknown.
