DP World Adds 700 Trucks To GCC Freight Network Without EV Timetable

Newsroom brief

DP World said it has acquired 700 trucks for its GCC road freight network and said the fleet can support up to 35,000 truck trips a month. The expansion adds regional freight capacity, but the company did not give a timetable for green-energy vehicles or disclose the investment value.

DP World is adding physical freight capacity to its Gulf logistics network, not only a digital supply-chain promise.

The company has acquired 700 trucks for GCC operations and said the expanded fleet can support up to 35,000 truck trips a month across domestic and cross-border routes.

DP World GCC Fleet Adds 700 Trucks

The new trucks strengthen DP World's road freight network across Gulf Cooperation Council markets as demand for integrated supply-chain services grows.

The company described the purchase as part of a long-term plan covering ports, terminals, economic zones and digital platforms.

Ahmad Yousef Al-Hassan leads DP World GCC as CEO and Managing Director.

He said the investment supports regional trade through an integrated multimodal logistics network and scales capacity across different stages of GCC trade.

The trucks will handle first-mile, middle-mile and last-mile logistics work.

The fleet will transport containerised and non-containerised cargo across the company's regional network of ports, logistics hubs and warehouses.

35,000 Monthly Truck Trips Expand Gulf Freight Capacity

DP World said the new fleet adds capacity for up to 35,000 truck trips every month.

DP World also said its existing transport network currently handles around 3,000 truck movements every day across the GCC.

Those are company-stated operating figures rather than independently audited performance data.

They show the scale of the capacity addition, but they do not identify customer volumes, revenue contribution, utilisation targets or the investment value of the fleet purchase.

Raveen Guliani, Chief Operating Officer for Logistics at DP World GCC, said customers want certainty, reliability, efficiency and more sustainable supply-chain services.

He said the connected network of warehouses and ports is intended to move goods, containers, vehicles and perishables across the region.

DP World Has Not Set A Green-Truck Rollout Date

DP World said the new trucks are fuel-efficient and comply with Euro V emissions standards.

The company also said it will continue exploring green-energy vehicle technologies as part of its sustainability ambitions.

The manufacturer of the trucks, the split between owned and leased assets, or the routes that will receive the first deployments remain outside the public record.

Customers tied to the new monthly trip capacity remain outside the public record.

The vehicles are being deployed progressively across its operations, according to the company.

The public record still lacks the investment amount, a green-energy vehicle timetable, customer commitments, expected utilisation levels or measured emissions reductions from the expanded GCC fleet.
